Jackson Stone

Associate - Cohort 003

Jackson Stone curates strong ideas that grow happiness and success in social situations.

He leverages an empathetic attitude and an entrepreneurial mindset to relate to diverse problems and situations, constantly seeking to learn and adapt while broadening his perspective.

Prior to working as a fall associate for Normal>Next, Stone worked for Learn to Win, an edtech startup out of Palo Alto, California. He serves on the board of nonprofit, Whirlidogs, striving to establish a work-based training cafe for disabled adults in his hometown, Wilson, North Carolina, working on areas ranging from strategic planning, to grant writing, to fundraising.

Stone graduated from Greenfield School in Wilson, where he was the Salutatorian and Student Body President. He was very involved in his community, volunteering for nonprofits and coaching youth sports each year. He also won state championships in soccer and cross country while serving as the captain of both teams, and played for the North Carolina Olympic Development Soccer team.

In more traditional years, Stone would be a sophomore focused on business, entrepreneurship, and sustainability at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain Scholar. In these unprecedented times, he has elected to take a gap year, focused on gaining real-world experiences and sharpening his skills before returning to his studies next Fall.

On campus, Stone was a member of Consult Your Community, which provides pro bono consulting to local nonprofits and startups, served as a member of the Sustainable Business Club, and coached youth basketball in Chapel Hill. He co-founded a college preparatory organization, Thrive, that provides free services and resources to children without access to college guidance programs.

In his free time, Stone enjoys playing pickup sports, working out, traveling, and discussing startup ideas with his friends. He loves being outside and thrives alongside others.
